retreating waves
pull the world from
beneath my feet

autumn-
the same elderly man
on the same park bench

chilly morning-
I hug your pillow
a little closer

first cold wave-
the smell of moth balls
everywhere

father's pride-
ducks watch my daughter
pretend to be a duck

ondas retirantes
puxam o mundo
de debaixo de meus pés

outono-
o mesmo homem velho
no mesmo banco da praça

manhã fria
eu abraço teu travesseiro
um pouco mais forte

primeira onda fria
o cheiro de naftalinas
