Because It's May

Because it's May, the clouds surround
a fuller moon that is also found
at any place where waters flow.
More roses bloom, more bouquets grow,
more pigeons rove, more rabbits bound.

Church bells repeat a merry sound,
more dreams come true and brides abound,
and mothers' smiles retain more glow
                  because it's May.

The sun comes for its daily round,
and stretches shadows on the ground.
More berries fall when breezes blow.
More windows open wide to show
this beauty loitering around
                  because it's May.
