A Cake for Linda

Linda, Linda, pretty girl,
only winds can brush her hair.
Mama comes with lace and pins,
looking for her everywhere!

Linda runs around the table,
jumps the fence with cats and birds,
hopping with them to the fields,
leaving mama shouting words.

Lady bugs are roving by,
playful friends that fly in swirls,
make of Linda's head their bed,
getting stuck beneath her curls!

Linda seeks a tree to sleep,
saying cats should also rest;
birds already know and crowd
Linda's hair, their fluffy nest!

Mama makes a chocolate cake
luring Linda with its smell,
but to taste it, she must let
mama comb her hair as well!
